Experts and scholars from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Agricultural University, the National Agricultural Informatization Engineering Technology Research Center, and various related domestic enterprises participated in a Hainan internet agricultural town seminar held today in Shi Mountain Town, Haikou, to conduct research and discussions on this emerging phenomenon.
Experts believe that holding a focused seminar on Hainan internet agricultural towns before the national "Internet + Modern Agriculture" conference and the Farmers' Entrepreneurship and Innovation Conference is of great significance. The Hainan internet agricultural town, rooted in Hainan's practice, represents a positive innovation and exploration from the grassroots level.
First, at the macro level, the construction of Hainan internet agricultural towns aligns with a series of important national strategies, such as the simultaneous modernization of agriculture, the "Internet +" national network strategy, mass entrepreneurship, the integrated development of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, and targeted poverty alleviation. These strategies are all specifically reflected in Hainan's practice.
Second, Hainan internet agricultural towns have grasped the essence of agricultural informatization. "Internet + Modern Agriculture" aims to transform traditional agriculture using modern information technology, influencing the "three rural issues" (agriculture, rural areas, and farmers) to improve agricultural quality and efficiency, upgrade rural areas, and enhance the status of farmers. The exploration of Hainan internet agricultural towns represents a new interpretation of traditional Chinese rural production and lifestyles in the face of the internet revolution, creating new occupations, models, and business formats for the "three rural issues."
